NCS Resins hand sanitiser donation “a Godsend” for the elderly

 In General

Thank you to NCS Resins for their 80% alcohol-blend hand sanitisers that have been a Godsend as we continue to fight the Coronavirus pandemic in our homes.

-Tafta Marketing Manager Prevashni Naidu

There is no question that Covid-19 has affected every South African in one way or another, whether dealing with the adverse health effects of the Coronavirus itself or experiencing the financial strain on business caused by the extended lockdown. But it is the elderly and frail who are the most susceptible members of society to the disease.

The Ferro Group has recognised this, and through its subsidiary NCS Resins (Africa’s largest manufacturer of unsaturated polyester resins) it is making a difference by donating large quantities of its world-class FerroClean Hand Sanitiser (an addition to its current product range) where it is needed most.

The Association for the Aged (Tafta) is a NPO that supports the elderly and vulnerable in the Durban area, caring for 2 000 people (as well as 3 500 in the field), with 13 homes in the eThekwini region. Tafta Marketing Manager Prevashni Naidu reached out to us, revealing that the NPO has been struggling to cope with a significant budget deficit. This has been caused by the unexpected expense now imposed on them for personal protective equipment (PPE) used daily to safeguard their most vulnerable residents.

With NCS Resins’ quality approved sanitiser, we are very proud to be able to make a difference in the lives of the people under Tafta’s care, by donating enough of our product to adequately support their needs for the three-month period of June to August 2020.

“Tafta is extremely grateful for the support of NCS Resins, who delivered a second month’s supply of sanitisers today to the Tafta Head Office at 80 Samora Machel Street,” says Prevashni. “This exceptional company has donated 630 litres of sanitiser per month for us to use in all 13 of our homes during this extremely volatile time.”

Prevashni further explains that the use of sanitisers, foggers and other sanitising equipment has become the norm at their homes, and that they have been using an enormous amount of these products on a daily basis in an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19, which has a devastating effect on the elderly and immunodeficient.

It is clear that the donation will go a long way towards alleviating the financial burden that Tafta has been experiencing, and this is good news for those who are supported by this NPO, which provides such a vital service to the Durban community.

“Thank you to NCS Resins for their 80% alcohol-blend hand sanitisers that have been a Godsend as we continue to fight the Coronavirus pandemic in our homes,” says Prevashni.

NCS Resins’ donation of much-needed hand sanitiser (recently handed over by the Procurement and HR Managers) has been welcomed by Tafta.
